Thai massage is traditionally performed on the ground — you lie on a padded mat because the masseuse guides you thru partner yoga poses and manipulates your body into stretches. Some traditional massage techniques, like acupressure, compression and joint mobilisation, also are used, but no lotions or oils are applied and you remain fully clothed for the session.Some centres may modify traditional Thai massage to be performed on a table thanks to regulations, space limitations or for patients who are unable to urge up and down from the ground easily.
